Capitol Campaign Fundraiser

May 25, 2010 - Request for Proposal: For a fundraiser professional or organization to conduct a proposed
fundraising campaign for M.S.A.D. No. 22’s new Hampden Academy.
The M.S.A.D. No. 22 Board of Directors, in conjunction with the M.S.A.D. No. 22 Education
Foundation, is seeking a person(s) or organization to organize, plan, and execute a capital
campaign associated with the district’s new high school, Hampden Academy. This campaign of
$2 million will support unfunded project elements associated with the high school.

The person(s) or organization coordinating this campaign should be results oriented, flexible, and
have demonstrated experience managing large fundraising campaigns that include special events
and major donor cultivation and solicitation.

Executive Director, Ames Education Foundation

 

The Ames Education Foundation, a 501C3 not-for-profit, is the fundraising arm of Ames Community Schools. With assets of over $600,000, the Foundation develops and manages annual and planned giving programs to support the students, teachers and staff of Ames Schools and enrich the education of every Ames student.
 
Opportunity: Executive Director
The Executive Director, reporting to the Board of AEF, will design, implement, and manage a program of annual and planned giving fund-raising in support of the Ames Education Foundation and the Ames Community Schools. In particular, the Executive Director will focus on researching opportunities from appropriate funding sources, providing leadership in the cultivation and solicitation of donor prospects, and managing stewardship of designated fiduciary accounts.
 
Scope:     Half-time, twelve months
Salary:     Commensurate with experience

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and successful experience in professional fund-raising and planned giving for non-profit foundations. The candidate must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to work with people and as part of a team, a working knowledge of the legal and financial aspects of philanthropic and planned giving, and computer literacy in office, database, and fundraising management software.
